Term-time Group Coaching
After-school & weekend group lessons for children of all ages & standards. Learn Tennis the fun way at Barnes and Parsons Green Tennis Club.

We have identified key physical and tennis relevant psycho-motor skills that are essential to effectively learn tennis. These form the foundation of any players ability to improve their performance and effectively develop their tennis skills. We ensure these are coached alongside the fundamental technical knowledge required to play better tennis. Our programme has been designed that each week flows neatly into the next, ensuring we develop not only strong tennis players, but all-around better sports people. Coaches will help players each week along their development path to instil strong fundamental concepts that stand up to all the demands and challenges they will face on the tennis court and throughout their sporting career. Our classes group players into defined categories to ensure the right playing level and to ensure optimum development of each player throughout the programme.

Definitions for the Recreational (Rec), Developmental (Dev), and Advanced (Adv) categories

🎾Recreational Tennis – Play for the Joy of It
Our recreational tennis programme is all about enjoying the game while building skills in a relaxed, supportive environment. Players train once a week through the Top Tennis Coaching Programme, where each session blends technical instruction with physical or psychomotor development.
This is a non-competitive setting — players focus on personal progress and do not participate in matches or tournaments outside the class.
🚀 Development – For Committed Young Players
Our Development programme is designed for players who are passionate about tennis and eager to progress. They bring strong fundamentals, a focused mindset, and full engagement to every session.
Players train twice a week, developing consistency in rallies with peers of similar age and ability. They are able to serve over and in with at least 50% accuracy, and many actively compete or seek competitive opportunities beyond their regular training.
🎯Advanced – For Competitive, High-Level Players
Our Advanced programme is tailored for players with a well-rounded technical game, demonstrating consistency, power, and spin across all strokes. Players serve with at least 80% accuracy, and training sessions focus on the tactical, physical, and mental aspects that drive 75% of match-play success.
Participants train 2–3 times per week and compete regularly within club and LTA frameworks, entering Grade 4 and 5 tournaments at least once a month.
